Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge - Springtime.....

Hellooooo!

I'm here with my mid month reminder for the We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge and this months theme is "Springtime".

Well, it wouldn't be Spring without snowdrops would it!

So here I've used Chocolate Baroques stamp sets Spring is in the Air and Essence of Nature

The background I have produced with my Distress Inks, Polychromo pencils and some white paint and the snowdrops themselves I used the Polychromos again with some white paint.

I had a particular friend in mind when I made this card so it soon went off in to the post and was very gratefully received - well, a Springtime card is best received in the Spring after all!!!!

Please do come and join us over at We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge

New theme at We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge - Springtime.....

Hi there!

Here I am with the sample that I've made for the new theme over at We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge which for this month is "Springtime".

For this card, I used Chocolate Baroque stamp sets Essence of Nature and Just Butterflies

The background was created using Stormy Sky and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and the grasses at the bottom (which are actually the top of one of the trees from this set) are stamped in Versafine Claire Green Oasis.

I popped a few Nuvo Drops in white on the tree for a little bit of blossom.

Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque "I Love......."

Hi folks!

Here is my mid month reminder for the We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge for our theme this month which is "I Love.......".

This time, I'm showing you that I love nature, flowers and the tones of blue and brown together.

As with my sample at the beginning of the month, I have again used Chocolate Baroque's Glorious stamp set.

The background of this creation started with blue and brown brushos ( well, that's another love of mine isn't it - anything inky, painty or what I can get myself in to a mess with!!!!). After thoroughly drying off that background I stamped the beautiful flower and coloured it in using my Sentimentally Yours brush pens. Highlighted with a white pen and splattered with white and blue splashes.  Mounted it up using co-ordinating coloured cardstock.

Do come over and join us at

We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge

If I had to actually list what I love in my crafty world I think I'd be here for hours, the list would include, rubber stamping, inks, messy backgrounds, anything at all to do with nature and flowers, animals, pyrography, sewing and of course my love of Daniel Smith watercolour paints that I use in my paintings - you see? I've only just touched the surface!!!!!

See you on the first Sunday of April for a new theme!

Thanks for stopping by,

Leanne

New theme at We Love Chocolate Baroque "I Love......."

Hi there,

Well, March is here AND SPRING IS ON IT'S WAY YAY!!!!!!!!

It's a new theme over at We Love Chocolate Baroque and this month's new theme is "I Love...." so for this theme I've chosen two things that I particularly love, pyrography (or wood burning) and nature.

Here I have created a sample using a bamboo coaster and I've used Chocolate Baroque's Glorious set.

The sentiment comes in the same set too.

Firstly I stamped out the image and then I have used my pyrography tools to burn over those images and the sentiment.  Finishing it off by shading it in with my alcohol pens and a white posca pen.  I have popped a hard floor varnish over the top to give it some protection too.

Please do come over and join us at

and share what it is that you love in your crafting world.

Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge.... Flowers, Butterflies or Birds

Hey there!

Welcome to my mid month reminder for the We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge and our them this month which is "Flowers, Butterflies or Birds".

My first sample this month I took on the butterfly option of the theme and on my second sample here I chose the flowers option of the theme!

This beautiful stamp from Chocolate Baroque is called Hanging Flowers

I coloured it using my Daniel Smith Watercolours and pastel pencils.  I worked on the background first using an impressionistic approach that I use in my paintings (you will notice the green of the leaves is also in the background where the leaves are and purple of the flowers is also in the background around the flowers) - you basically make a nice messy background and then neaten everything up once the background is thoroughly dry!

The sentiment is from the Chocolate Baroque Birthday Words stamp set

Please do come over and join in with our theme of flowers, butterflies or birds this month, I look forward to seeing your entries,

New theme at We Love Chocolate Baroque..... Flowers, butterflies or birds

Hi there!

Well this is a WHOPPER of a butterfly! This stamp that I've used comes from Chocolate Baroque's stamp set Patchwork Butterfly

This is a huuuuuuge stamp and is lots of fun to create with - here I stamped the butterfly with a Kaleidacolor ink pad, spritzed it with my water sprayer (I love getting messy!) and let it run down the page.  Once dry, I over stamped the butterfly in black versafine to bring out all the details (you could use a stamping platform to do this).

The sentiment - also stamped with the same Kaleidacolor ink pad - is also a Chocolate Baroque sentiment and comes from the Birthday Words stamp set

Bright and beautiful!

We love to see your entry's and how you've interpreted the theme.

Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque for our theme of "feminine"

Hi there!

Here's my mid month reminder for the We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge:-

We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge

I loved making this sample, not only is it quite a simple make, it's feminine but also has a peaceful feeling to it so suitable for a feminine sympathy card too?

Here I have used Chocolate Baroque's Essence of Nature stamp set

I used Distress inks for the background and coloured the butterflies with Sincerely Yours watercolour blending brush pens finishing with an organza ribbon and some nuvo drops.

There's still plenty of time to get your entry in to our challenge, just use the link that I've popped on here above.

Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge and Anything Goes

Hi there!

It's mid month and that means I'm here with a mid month reminder for our We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge.

Here's a sample that I've made using two of Chocolate Baroque's stamp sets - Heath Robinson House(the coloured large image in the centre) and Townhouses (the muted houses in the background).

Coloured with distress inks.

I thought this is such a versatile stamp set for both feminine or masculine cards and even the younger ones in their teens perhaps as they set upon life's journey.

Here's the link to our Challenge:-

Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque " Christmas"

Hi there!

Here I am with my mid month reminder for the

We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge

Our theme this month is "Christmas".

Here I have used two of Chocolate Baroque's stamp sets on this card -

A Tomte Christmas and Trees a Crowd

I started by stamping my little gnomes and covering them with a mask that I made.  Then I worked on the distress ink background and added the trees using Versafine Claire ink pads.  After removing the mask the little gnomes were coloured in using my Koi brush markers.  To finish I added some white enamel accents for some snowflakes.

This is quite a rare make for me as you can see a white border has been left AND IT HASN'T GOT A SINGLE FINGER PRINT ON IT!!!!!! Wowsers, I must have been having a good day!!!!

Do pop over to see us at We Love Chocolate Baroque!

Mid Month Reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge for "Anything Goes"

Hi there!

Here I am with your mid month reminder for our We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge and our theme this month couldn't be easier - it's Anything Goes!!!

Here I have used Chocolate Baroque's Autumn Edges stamp set which has several "edges" on it and I have used the mushrooms edge. I particularly liked this stamp as it's so suitable for cards or home decor for both men and women.  The sentiment is also Chocolate Baroque.

Coloured with distress inks on top of a distress ink background using nice autumnal colours.

New theme for We Love Chocolate Baroque - Anything Goes!

Hello there and welcome to the first Sunday of October! You know what that means? - It's a new theme over on the I Love Chocolate Baroque challenge and this month it's the best one of all - Anything Goes!

Here I have used Chocolate Baroque's Honey Bee stamp set but I have only used the two foxgloves that are in the set.  I stamped them with a Kaleidacolor ink pad so get the lovely colours and then pulled the colour out with a slightly damp brush, then over stamped some of the larger ones at the front with a touch of Versafine ink and left the others without it.  The background is simply distress ink swept across with a stencil brush.

I do hope you'll come over and join us - here's the link for you:-

New theme for our new challenge - "We Love Chocolate Baroque" - Wings or Anything Goes!

Hello there and welcome to our new challenge - "We Love Chocolate Baroque"!

This sample is using Chocolate Baroque's Patchwork Butterfly set.  Coloured with distress oxides and distress inks.

I'll let you in to a little secret, I've made this card as an anniverary card for my friend who actually got married on the same day that I did!!!!  Her wedding theme was lilac so here I am with beautiful lilacs!!!!

I just loved the little Irish blessing from this set so I've simply stamped "Happy Anniversary" inside the card instead!!!

Do come over and join us on the new I Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge - here's the link!

We are a hand stamping challenge so usual rules apply, your main focal image must be that of a hand stamped image and on theme too.

You can never have too many butterflies!!!!!!

Good morning!!

I'm "between art calls" right now so I've taken the opportunity to create two pieces for two different challenges while I can!!!!

The first one is for the Stamping Sensations colour Challenge"-

I have a new item in my stash - Crackle Accents!!! So I've used that on my inky background here.  I have used inks from my Artistry Ink pad selection.  The butterfly is a beautiful one by Penny Black.

My second offering is for the Butterfly Challenge:-

This has been created using a huuuuuuuge butterfly by Chocolate Baroque and all the silhouetted ones are also a further set by Chocolate Baroque along with the sentiment.  The silhouette butterflies stamped out looking rather distressed and I loved the effect of this so didn't even attempt to cover the patches and went with it!!!  It was diluted Brushos this time to get the intense indigo colours on water colour card stock over white embossing so I hope I've got everything on there for this challenge!!!!

Hope you like both of these pieces,
Thanks for stopping by today,
Leanne xxx

I will enter these in to the Stamping Sensations Challenge and the Butterfly Challenge on the links quoted within this post.

"Pack Up Your Troubles"...........(in your old kit bag and smile, smile smile!)........

Good morning!

Here is the other make that I made for Father's Day (you'll find the card from myself to my husband James on Wednesdays post) - this time it's the card that I made for my children to give to Dad last Sunday (Father's Day).

Now, James is super keen on militaria and the history of WWI and WWII and he loved this card!

I have made this card from the stamps in the Creative Expressions set "Pack Up Your Troubles".

I started off with a distress ink background and have added a Chocolate Baroque crackle effect stamp all over it - had to stamp it a few times to cover the area as the card is larger than the stamp!

I then stamped the soldier, then all the medals,  the plane was next and is a second generation stamp to put it nicely in to the background.  The sentiment was stamped on and finally "Blighty" twice, nice and pale on that background too.

Mat and layered in black and white.

James was quite impressed with this one and was more intrigued as to how I'd got hold of such brilliant stamps! - They are out there and available from Creative Expressions!

Hope you like this one and thank you for stopping by today,
Leanne xx

With Love............

Good morning!

It is with sadness that I have made this card for the last challenge that Chocolate Baroque will be offering.  I have loved this challenge but sadly, all good things come to an end at some time or another don't they?

So, I had to work with a colour swatch which was:

A lovely choice of colours that lend themselves to each other beautifully.

Here is how I got to it.  I started by just playing really with some Spectrum Aqua markers, glycerine and a sponge!  I also added some white drawing ink in to the mix and loved the effect that I got.

I then went on with my hills and then the flowers which have been coloured in with diluted aqua markers.  The butterflies have been coloured in with the new distress oxide inks.  The butterflies went on next and finally the sentiment.

I appreciate that the sentiment of "With Love" looks completely on the wonk - I can assure you that it is completely straight here at home!!! - I am working with a new phone and depending on how I angle it, sometimes the sentiments can look a little wonky or even blurry - I'm doing my best - the phone is more sensitive than I ever am!!!!

The antenna were just too fiddly to cut out so I decided to stamp the main image of the butterfly first in black versafine and then stick the cut out butterfly on to the top to give it perfect "feelers"!!!!!

Thank you to Lesley and all at Chocolate Baroque for a great challenge blog and I really hope that you will be able to bring it back to us some day - it will be missed....

I would like to enter this in to the final Chocolate Baroque colour swatch challenge:-

Imagine the possibilities........

Good morning!

Here is my entry for the current Chocolate Baroque colour swatch challenge:-

My teal blue is coming out rather blue on the photograph but it is indeed the same teal blue as the sky is but the light is making it lighter!!!!!!

I have used Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens for this project to make the lovely blended background here.  I then stamped Katya right in the middle and lifted out some colour from her face and her head dress with water.

The silhouette palace 1 stencil was used at the bottom and I sponged some Momento red ink through this and shaded it a bit darker with a Momento brown ink pad.

The sun/moon and clouds have been produced using water again and lifting some of that ink and covering the sun/moon with some of the lifted ink so it gives you that lovely positive/negative effect.

The sentiment is from the Chocolate Baroque words of inspiration stamp set and the little birds are from the serenity set

I finished off by adding some white pen dots around the head dress to pop it a bit and I was very happy with this.

The example of the challenge swatch made me think of a calmness with a dreamy feeling and so, this is what I tried to produce with the Chocolate Baroque products that I have and the colours for the swatch.

Hope you like what you've seen here today and have enjoyed your visit.

I would like to enter this in to the Chocolate Baroque challenge 34 colour swatch challenge:-
