Love Makes The Wildest Spirit Tame.............

Good morning!

Well here we are with a card that I've made for the current Cards in Envy challenge of "Motherly Love".

Having had Mother's Day here in the UK back in March I chose to put a twist on this theme and use a wonderful Imagination Crafts art stamp of a Mummy elephant with her two babies - well, it's Motherly Love isn't it?!!!!

I started with a blank piece of watercolour card and swept some of the new distress oxides (diluted) across and down the page.  This gave me a nice, calm colour on which to build my elephants colours on to.

I then stamped the main image with perfect medium and heat embossed with black detail embossing powder.

I then used distress oxide ink (again, diluted) to paint in what I needed on the elephants to give them some depth and shadow.

The hills were produced from torn copy paper and a couple of Momento inks and the sun was lifted out with water, as too, were the clouds.

The foliage was stamped in one of the Momento inks at the front (Bee Crafty) and the bird was added at the top and shaded in and the sentiment stamped ( both Pollyanna Pickering).

Mat and layered.

A Christmas Thank you.......

Good morning!!

Well, it's a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges today and our new theme is 

"Winter or Spring". Please remember that the main focal point of your artwork MUST BE A STAMPED IMAGE AND NOT A DIGITAL ONE.

I'm sending out my Christmas thank you's at the moment so I'm sharing this one with you today.  I took some photo's along the way so shall we take our usual journey?

Let me introduce you to "Angel" - another outstanding rubber stamp by Pollyanna Pickering. Here I have started with my usual piece of Sheena stamping card and stamped the image with Archival ink and masked over with masking fluid.

Ok, I have soaked the paper with water and added some black india drawing ink to form the sky and added some hills in the background. I then rubbed away the masking fluid.

Here I have stamped some tree tops (Inkylicious) in black and then restamped over the top with some white embossing powder.  I have painted in angel using Spectrum Aqua markers diluted as paints and I have added some white modelling paste to the branches.

What a beauty! I added some Diamond Ice crystals with some glue to all the branches for snow and printed my sentiment on to vellum.

Mat and layered.

Really pleased with this one, perfect for a wintry thank you.

Good morning!

Let me introduce you to another of my favourite stamps again from Pollyanna Pickering - everyone in blogland, this is Ralph the squirrel, Ralph, this is everyone in blogland!  I made this card for my daughter Hayley when she left for University early October and thought I'd share it with you all. It sits proudly in Hayleys room at Uni now.....

Shall we take our journey?

I started with my usual piece of blank white Sheena stamping card.  

My first task was to stamp out all of my leaves (Inkylicious) in a nice Autumn wreath shape and mask them off one by one so that they over lapped each other in lovely Autumn distress colours.

Then came Ralph in the middle.  I didn't need to mask him off as I shaded him in with distress inks straight away.

I then shaded in around Ralph with more diluted distress ink using plenty of water to flood the area but not quite going up to Ralph.

The background, outside the wreath has been done using brusho's.  I have sprinkled them directly on to the card stock (not being too careful as the leaves were masked off at this stage) and spritzed with water until I got the effect that I wanted. I stamped some acorns in the corners and shaded those in as well.

Then I allowed this all to dry naturally.

When everything was dry, I rubbed away all the masking fluid and shaded in my leaves. I stamped "Best of Luck" and then chose random leaves to have Glossy Accents applied to them so that they seemed even more raised off of the page.

Matted and Layered.

I thought this was a lovely Autumnal card for Hayley as she set sail to pastures new and a new chapter in her life.....Where did all the years go?  

I think the hardest part of being a mother, is having to let them go......

We love you so much Hayley and we always will..........
