Vintage Romance...............

Good morning!

A short mid week post for you this week.  I've made this postcard for Sunday Postcard Arts' "Vintage Romance" theme this week.

I started with my 6 x 4 inch piece of Sheena stamping card and soaked the card stock with water and dropped red drawing ink on to it allowing it to bleed around the card stock.

I then stamped my vintage couple (now I haven't got a clue of the maker of this stamp, I've had it for years and years and even made some wedding stationary over ten years ago with it!).  I covered the couple with masking fluid and stamped the background stamps (many of which are from the same set as the vintage couple).

I then lifted some colour out with ordinary household bleach.

Over stamped the roses with gold embossing powder so that it looked romantic and as if the roses were falling down in front of them.

Edged with distress ink.

I was pleased with this one - I particularly like the love letter down at the bottom.

Hope you like it too.  Thanks for stopping by today.

A Christmas Thank you.......

Good morning!!

Well, it's a new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges today and our new theme is
"Winter or Spring". Please remember that the main focal point of your artwork MUST BE A STAMPED IMAGE AND NOT A DIGITAL ONE.

I'm sending out my Christmas thank you's at the moment so I'm sharing this one with you today.  I took some photo's along the way so shall we take our usual journey?

Let me introduce you to "Angel" - another outstanding rubber stamp by Pollyanna Pickering. Here I have started with my usual piece of Sheena stamping card and stamped the image with Archival ink and masked over with masking fluid.

Ok, I have soaked the paper with water and added some black india drawing ink to form the sky and added some hills in the background. I then rubbed away the masking fluid.

Here I have stamped some tree tops (Inkylicious) in black and then restamped over the top with some white embossing powder.  I have painted in angel using Spectrum Aqua markers diluted as paints and I have added some white modelling paste to the branches.

What a beauty! I added some Diamond Ice crystals with some glue to all the branches for snow and printed my sentiment on to vellum.

Mat and layered.

Really pleased with this one, perfect for a wintry thank you.

Don't forget to have a go at our new challenge over at Fashionable Stamping Challenges "Winter or Spring" REMEMBER we must see the focal point of your project as rubber stamping - we love to see how creative you all are!

Dance in the Moonlight..........

Good morning and Happy Halloween folks!!!!!!

Well, todays post just had to be a Halloween card didn't it??!!!!!

I took photo's along the way so shall we take a spooky journey today?

OK, started with a piece of Sheena stamping card and soaked it in water and dotted on some black india drawing ink and allowed that to dry.

Then I knew that I wanted the effect of cobwebs in the top of the artwork so I took an embossing folder and made a stamp out of funky foam! (where there's a will, there's a way!!!).

So I inked that up and stamped the top right hand corner with it - perfect!

I inked up a further piece of white card exactly the same way and when dry I stamped tree branches (Chocolate Baroque) all around it and backed it with black card stock.

So I went back to the main central piece and stamped the bats, witch and graveyard stamps (if you notice, it's the graveyard tree that I stamped all around the outer edge).  All of these stamps are Chocolate Baroque.  Put a bit of lightening in there with a white pen and tinged it a bit yellow to lighten the sky from the lightening strikes.

Assembled all the mats and layers and used a pen to draw an outline around the main panel.

Very happy with that!
