..... Always be a mermaid!

Good morning!

Well here I am with an offering that I have made for the current Try It On Tuesday Challenge of "Feathered Friends".

Now, I have a huuuuuge love of Cornwall so I went down the road of thinking of feathered friends? - seagulls! Well, they may well not be everybody's friends, I'll give you that - but they are to a mermaid!!!!

So here I have developed a lovely, coastal scene by using the free stamps that came with Creative Stamping magazine.

How useful are these - they are excellent!

So I built up my scene by firstly stamping the mermaid, then stamped the waves along with the seagulls and masked them all off with drawing gum.

I then applied some gesso to the sky and dried it off. Once dry, I could apply (from the top of the page downwards) some adirondack ink with a clarity brush for the sky, then came down with the sea.

When I was happy, the drawing gum was rubbed away and the images coloured with diluted distress inks and then I finished the mermaids tail with a Spectrum Noir clear overlay pen.

There, you can see the shine from the beautiful clear overlay pen.

I finished by stamping the sentiment and adding the boat for them all to look out at, some birds in the sky and applying some colour around those posts that the birds are standing on.

Mat and layered.

I would like to enter this in to the Try It On Tuesday challenge of "Feathered Friends":-

Hope you've enjoyed your visit today, nice to see you!

Dance...........

Good morning!

Another card made for a family member today - this time my niece Lili.  Lili dances in many competitions so this card is just perfect!

OK, we start our journey today at this point.  I have used my gelli plate to give me the lovely flash of brightness on the background here.  The brayer comes in to it's own with the gelli plate and results can be stunning.  So, I've used raisin Adirondack ink here with Adirondack lemonade on the gelli plate with Sheena stamping card.  Then it was Visible Image stamps once again that took over - one of their new sets that I was bought for my birthday in February (Perform).  So I've continued to stamp in the same Adirondack Raisin ink that I've used on that background.  I stamped the image of the ballerina, then a stamp which I have to admit is my all time favourite stamp - the girls face from Tim Holtz classic favorites by Stampers Anonymous.  Then I added a couple of Visible Image flowers to keep it pretty.

Then I got going on that tutu! I started with some glue and glitter, then added some black glass beads - it just got bigger and bigger!!!!! Some silver glass beads went on there too!

The sentiments are from the same Visible Image stamp set.

Some white highlighting on the ballerina, some sparkle overlay pen on the flowers and I was done.

Mat and layered.

I am quite satisfied that my niece will like this one.

Hope you do too! Thanks for stopping by,
Leanne xx

May all your dreams come true.........

Good morning!

This card has been created for the current Chocolate Baroque colour swatch challenge - it was a beautiful colour choice this time.

I've taken some photo's for this one so lets take a journey and see how I got there.....

Oooh lots of lovely inkiness!  It was a mixture of distress inks and adirondak on here.  Blended them together and then stamped some flower images on there just with water (not easy to see I admit) and then also splattered some water on there too and lifted off the colour.

OK, here comes the stamping! So I've used the Chocolate Baroque flowers and coloured them in using my Polychromo pencils.  I must say, this took a while but it was sooooo relaxing.  I then highlighted some areas with the white polychromo pencil.

So on the final card you can see that I have added further flowers, again coloured those in and highlighted with the white pencil and added a background stamp and the word "Art". On the actual card I have stamped the sentiment also from Chocolate Baroque.

I enjoyed making this one purely down to the quietness of just sitting down, colouring in and drifting off to that place where we all go when our minds switch off a bit - have you ever been there - it's really nice!
