Good morning!
This morning I'm sharing a make that I have very recently done for the Rubber Dance challenge of black and white plus one other colour.
I have to confess that I don't have any Rubber Dance stamps so I'm joining in with a variety of stamps and keeping to the colour theme.
OK, this piece started life as a plain white piece of Sheena stamping card and I stamped the eyes first (Visible Image). I sort of have an idea of where I'm going when I start a project but very often just go with the flow and see where my mind takes me and that's exactly what happened with this piece!
I then covered the eyes and the eyebrows with some Pebeo drawing gum so that they stayed white no matter what I decided to do!
I sprayed some Mix Media Ink Spray in black (Imagination Crafts) around the edges of the face and allowed to dry off.
The branches around this piece of artwork were to make those eyes look like they were peeping through them and these are branches from two half tree stamps by Lavinia Stamps. I have also added some nice cracking effects from the Create It stamp set at Visible Image - there are also some falling leaves down the nose that are also from that same set at Visible Image.
This idea came about because here in the UK the trees are bursting now with all their leaves and waking up for the summertime.
The nose needed some definition and this was simply done using black soot distress ink on a smoothie and swept down until I was happy with the result.
The lips are also Visible Image and the leaves that are scattered around and in some cases cut out and 3D'd on there are from the green man stamp set at Lavinia Stamps.
All the drawing gum was rubbed off to reveal nice white eyes and the sentiment was applied (Stampin Up).
The only thing left to do was to add the one colour that I was allowed and that was to the eyes which is a lovely piercing deep blue which was a Spectrum Aqua marker.
Mat and layered in black and white.
I was pleased with this one, never that easy to keep to two colours and give it depth.
I would like to enter this in to the following challenges:-
Rubber Dance "Black and White plus one other colour":-
Craft Stamper "Anything Goes":-
I hope you enjoyed your visit today,
Thanks for stopping by,
Leanne xx
