Sett For Anything.......

Hi there!

This is the second painting that I've done in 2021 (the first one being my cat Charlie that I posted here on my blog on 25th January this year).

This one I've called "Sett For Anything".

Now I must confess, I love painting nature and particularly animal portraits but this one I found particularly difficult - and I don't really know why!!!!

This was actually my third attempt at this badger - I just wasn't satisfied with previous efforts, all were good, but not good enough for me!!! Colours needed to be spot on too - I wasn't going to paint just a black and white badger now was I!!!!

So here it is - finished when I was happiest with it!  Painted with my trusty Daniel Smith watercolours, watercolour markers and pastel pencils with a touch of posca pens.

Hope you like it now that I eventually do!!!

Meow-vellous

Hi there!

I know that several of you like me to share what I've been up to in my painting world (as well as in my paper crafting world) so here is a recent one that I've done - it's one of my cats - my only boy, Charlie!

I actually took the photograph last year.

Painted in my favourite mixed media style with my Daniel Smith watercolours, pastel pencils, watercolour markers and posca pens.

Hope you like it, I was pleased with it.

Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque for our theme of "feminine"

Hi there!

Here's my mid month reminder for the We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge:-

We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge

I loved making this sample, not only is it quite a simple make, it's feminine but also has a peaceful feeling to it so suitable for a feminine sympathy card too?

Here I have used Chocolate Baroque's Essence of Nature stamp set

I used Distress inks for the background and coloured the butterflies with Sincerely Yours watercolour blending brush pens finishing with an organza ribbon and some nuvo drops.

There's still plenty of time to get your entry in to our challenge, just use the link that I've popped on here above.

New theme at We Love Chocolate Baroque..... Feminine

Hi there and Happy New Year! - (let's hope we all have a much better year than we did in 2020!).

It's the first Sunday of January so we have a new theme for you over at the We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge :-

We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge

This month our them is "feminine".

My sample for this theme is a DL card using Chocolate Baroque's

Butterfly Perfumery

Stamped with Kaleidacolor ink pad {birthstone} and coloured with distress inks Evergreen Bough, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.

The background is Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves distress ink sponged on with a dauber.

I finished with some Swarovski crystals but they are hard to pick up from the photo I'm afraid.

Do come over and join us!

Thanks for Stopping by,

Merry Christmas!

Hey there!

Well, here we are at Christmas week and what a year it has been.  2020 has been a strange and difficult year for so many of us and we can only hope that 2021 is a better and safer year for us all.

This year saw me take up mixed media painting - did I think I could do it? - no.  Did I think that I had the confidence to do it? - no.  Did I think that my paintings would be good enough to share with my whole crafting and art world families? - no!  It just goes to show you that through the most unprecidented happenings, something new can come shining through that changes almost everything that I have ever done and the way that I see things - I have been stretched in my abilities (which I think that I needed) and I have moved closer (to my already very strong love) to nature and animals - it has been a year that I will never forget that's for sure.

I would like to wish each and every one of you that follows me, a very happy, peaceful, healthy and safe Christmas and I would also like to thank you all for the amazing comments that you have left on here and on all of my social media platforms - it's has been phenominal, it really has.

Here is my offering for Christmas to my blog, a beautiful reindeer rendered in watercolour and pastel pencils, with watercolour markers and posca pens.

See you next year! - stay safe.

Thanks for stopping by,

Leanne

Mid month reminder for We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge and Anything Goes

Hi there!

It's mid month and that means I'm here with a mid month reminder for our We Love Chocolate Baroque Challenge.

Here's a sample that I've made using two of Chocolate Baroque's stamp sets - Heath Robinson House(the coloured large image in the centre) and Townhouses (the muted houses in the background).

Coloured with distress inks.

I thought this is such a versatile stamp set for both feminine or masculine cards and even the younger ones in their teens perhaps as they set upon life's journey.

Here's the link to our Challenge:-

Thanks so much for stopping by and Merry Christmas to you all!!!!
