Mid month reminder at Penny Black and More Challenges.....Christmas!

Hi there!

I'm here today with your mid month reminder for our theme at Penny Black and More Challenges which this month is Christmas!

On this sample I've used the lovely Penny Black stamp 40-660 Lantern and the sentiment is from Penny Blacks stamp set 30-387 Festive snippets. (Tree branches are from my own stash, moon has been done with a circular mask just cut from some masking paper).

I think this is a lovely stamp, it isn't just for Christmas either but could be used on a spooky design for Halloween or added to any creation really if it suits it! To me it said Christmas hanging on the branches. It's quite different don't you think and I do lean towards things that are different - never been called "normal"!

The sentiment went perfectly with the lantern I thought.

Coloured with a distress oxide background and the lantern has been coloured with Zig clean color markers and the glass has been finished with glossy accents but unfortunately that doesn't show on the photograph.

A simple design but effective and it makes that lantern pop which is what I was trying to achieve.

Please do come and join us at Penny Black and More Challenges:-

and do remember that we are a hand stamping challenge so your entry must have a hand stamped image as it's main focal feature.

Out of my comfort zone with white on white..................

Hi there everyone!

Well, this week I've had a play outside of my comfort zone with a white on white Christmas card.

Now for those of you that know me well, I'm a huuuuge lover of plenty of paint and colour and very little white space (which I'm working on) but white on white, well, this is another ball game!!!

Actually, when I got my head around what I felt I wanted to do for this card, I really quite enjoyed it!!!!  Yes it took quite some time to cut the aperture, do the embossing of the back mats and all the stamping, embossing and die cutting of the flowers, ivy and holly.

The sentiment is embossed in silver and is one of my favorites by Stamps by Chloe, the poinsettias, holly sprays and ivy sprays are all John Next Door and are stamped on to both white card and white vellum.

I will enter this in to the current Allsorts Challenges of white on white:-

Hope you like this, see, I can do it if I try!!!!!!

New theme at Penny Black and More "Christmas".......

Hi there!!

Here we are on the first Sunday of November and charging towards December so our new theme this month is Christmas!

For my first Christmas make this month I've used the gorgeous Penny Black stamp 40-659 Jingle bells trio along with the sentiment which is from the Penny Black 30-387 Festive snippets (branches and snowflake stencil are from my own stash).

How Christmassy is this!!!!!!  I loved using this stamp!

Background is using distress ink and colour has been added to the bells using Zig clean color markers.

Hope you can come over and join us at Penny Black and More Challenges.
