Sheena Douglass Sketchy Stamp Samples for Hochanda TV.

Good morning folks!!!

Well, I do hope that you've had a lovely Christmas and the new year will soon be upon us.

Well, it has become very clear to me that with the rate of production for the TV shows over the past few months, I have been unable to keep up with the blogging of my creations (having far too much fun and creating far too many projects!!!!).  So I have come to the conclusion that instead of trying to share individual makes with you, I shall, through 2018, when I have been busy working for TV schedules, be sharing whole collections with you! Now there's a treat for you and it will make it a bit easier for me!!!!  Of course, when I have made individual projects for myself, they will be shared in the usual way in-between my collections. My production has far outweighed my blogging!!!! Oh dear!!!!

So, today I am sharing my makes from Sheena's new sketchy stamps that were filmed a few weeks back.  Now these were an absolute dream to work with, extremely forgiving as being "sketchy", the very nature of the word means that you can produce whatever you like with that sketchy feel very very easily!  All of these creations were produced using the new Spectrum Aqua colourtint pencils which are water soluble pencils and lend themselves beautifully to these projects.  Of course, any water soluble pencils that you have will work equally as well but I particularly liked the stunning colours that were in these pencil sets.

By drawing directly on to your rubber stamp and spritzing with water you can even stamp with them! - This I have done with the lovely owl and then I worked to enhance his features further.

Lets take a look -

The beautiful poppy has been enhanced with a touch of white acrylic paint.
What a stunner of a stamp!

Beautiful foxgloves, all together as they naturally grow.

Being close to Remembrance Sunday at the time this one just had to be done!

A simple daisy rotated.

Mr fox coming through!

Mr Hare peeking through the cabbages (other Sheena vegetable stamps).

Hows that on black card using the colourtint pencils!

and finally Mr Hare stamped with the pencils and colour washed in.

I was delighted to have a play with this set, (hence so many samples I think!).

Hope you've enjoyed your visit today.

While I have the opportunity, may I wish all my loyal followers, a very Happy New Year, it's been a fantastic year for me and my crafting journey so let's see where 2018 takes us!

Happy New Year my friends!

My Soul Is In The Sky..............

Good morning!

I'm sharing a creation that I made for inspiration for the Sheena's Inkettes challenge this month of "all creatures great and small".

I have used my favourite stamp - the Eagle - from the Call of the Wild set and the foliage and twigs are stamps from the very recent set of fairy stamps by Donna Ratcliffe. I have also die cut some of the feathers from the Call of the Wild set too.

I started this one by using my Vintage Hues sparkle pens to create that big swirl of a background and dried it with my heat tool.  Then the eagle went on and I have lifted a little bit of colour back out of him.  I then added a couple of different tones to the feathers and added colour to the beak and eye area and finished with a touch of white pen to enhance.  When I was happy with the eagle, I added the foliage and lifted colour from those leaves too. Added the sentiment with gold embossing powder and mat and layered up popping some feathers between the mats.

Great fun and very messy fingers as always!!!!

Good morning!

Well, here we are, it's nearly Christmas and it's our mid month reminder over at Penny Black and More challenges for our theme this month of "Clean and Simple".

Here I have a clean and simple offering for you using Penny Black stamps 30-419 Happy Wishes, 30-417 Delicate Silhouettes, 30-068 Trims and 40-546 Dancing Daisies.

Again, this is not my usual style (I like to fill a page with ink and paint!!!!) but admit to enjoying this challenge very much!

Stamped with aqua markers and blended out with some distress inks on the backgrounds.

You've got until the end of the month to come over and join us at Penny Black and More:

Don't forget there are prizes to be won!!!

Happy Christmas to all our followers at Penny Black and More challenges and indeed to all of my loyal followers here on my blog!

Baby It's Cold Outside..........brrrrrr

Morning folks! Hope you are keeping warm?

Well thought I'd pop a post on today and it just had to be something icy didn't it? So here is a card that I recently made for my daughters Christmas fair (I've called it The Ice Queen).  Completed in distress inks using the brilliant face it stamp set and the face mask and stencil set from Visible Image.

We've had quite a dumping of snow here and it's frozen overnight so I'm staying put today until it's all gone!!!! Living out here in the middle of the countryside is perfect in the Spring and Summer but the winter brings it's challenges - particularly when it's half a mile to the road from the house!

The boys are loving it!

Keep warm my friends and stay safe on those roads....

Published piece for the October 2017 Craft Stamper Magazine .....

Good morning!

A short post today to share my artwork that was published in the October 2017 edition of Craft Stamper for their Ready, Set, Stamp article with the theme - An Abundance of Nature.

With the light coming through those trees and all the little animals and insects, I was happy that I had captured the abundance of nature!

Hope you saw it in the magazine and if you didn't, hope you like what you see now!

It's a new challenge at Penny Black and More - "Clean and Simple"!

Good morning folks!

It's the first Sunday of December so it's a new challenge over at Penny Black and More and this month the new theme is "Clean and Simple"!

Now, this is a challenge for me as you all know, I'm an inky, painty kinda girl!!!! So keeping it clean and keeping it simple is a challenge in itself!!!!

For this inspirational piece of art work I've used Penny Black stamps 40-099 Wings and 30-419 Happy Wishes.

Keeping it as simple as I could, I embossed the butterfly with white embossing powder first on to watercolour card stock and then literally splashed some ink around and blew some of it with a straw to spread it around leaving lots of white space.

I do hope that you will come over and visit us at Penny Black and More, there are prizes to be had and it's a wonderful theme, especially for Christmas cards as you can leave lots of white space as the snow!!!

Check out the fabulous inspiration from the design team too.

Two samples for Sheena Douglass.............

Morning folks!

I'm sharing today, the first of some of the samples that I did using some of Sheena Douglass stamps that can also be used on fabrics. These stamps have been used on the messenger bags and rucksacks that were shown on Hochanda last month and I shall be sharing the fabric panels for a rucksack, painted by myself with these stamps shortly with you.

These samples are "extras" if you like to show you that the stamps can not only be used on fabric, but in the usual way on our canvases and card stocks too.

The first one is a beautiful bright butterfly set against that muted background.  The beautiful rose stamp and buds have been used on this background.  The large butterfly has also been covered in glossy accents.

The second one is a much more toned down card! In pale shades using the sixties flowers and butterflies from these sets.
