My last two Call of the Wild samples for Sheena Douglass.....

Good morning!!

I've got the last of my Call of the Wild samples for your today that I made for Sheena Douglass last month.

What fun I've had playing with the new stamps and dies in this collection.

The first one is a monochrome card in lovely blacks and greys - gives such a powerful impression of the wolf don't you think? and the second one is a much warmer toned card using Sheena's new sparkle pens and Illustrator markers from Crafters Companion.

I do hope that you've enjoyed seeing my samples from this collection over the past few weeks - they were a real joy to use.

Thanks for stopping by today,

That's it!!!! Five Christmas cards for November and my New Years Resolution is complete!!!!!

Good morning!!

Well, I'm thrilled to bits to be able to share these five Christmas cards for November with you and completing my New Years Resolution this year!!!  Five Christmas cards a month makes that 55 cards made - I'm very happy with that!!! (Don't make the five in December as I'm obviously busy writing and sending them then!!!).

These for this month are not that dissimilar to last month in that they are the same angel image from Visible Image.  I have totally changed the colour scheme (last months were pink) and I love the cool blue and icy feeling that these ones give off.

So that's me done for 2017, bring on January 2018 and I'll try and give it another go throughout next year!!

Month 11 and New Years Resolution 2017

MISSION COMPLETE!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you've enjoyed watching me throughout the year building my 2017 Christmas collection.

Last two samples for Donna Ratcliff for her new steampunk animals release....

Good morning!!!

Here I am with the last of my samples that I made for Donna Ratcliff's new release - her steampunk animals.

The first is a canvas that I thoroughly enjoyed getting in to a mess with!!!!  Lots of Decoart paints, stamping (and masking) die cutting and texture and grunge on there.

The second one is a rather long card but I thought that this was perfect for showing off that sentiment on the central panel with all the cogs, steam work and pipes all around it.  Coloured in with illustrator markers and backed on to black mats.

What a great collection, thoroughly enjoyed myself with this set of stamps!!!

Two Call of the Wild samples for Sheena Douglass..........

Morning folks!

Two samples to share this morning for Sheena Douglass's Call of the Wild collection that was shown on Hochanda.

The first one has that fantastic big moon and the sparkle pen sky, hills have been produced using distress oxides and of course the trees and the wolf are outstanding dies from Sheena Douglass.

The second one has been done in calmer tones with distress inks and the Chief has been coloured in with diluted aqua markers.  Some stamping of the trees and the addition of some die cut trees too here.

A fabulous collection to work with.

Two more steampunk samples for Donna Ratcliff on Hochanda....

Good morning!

Sharing another two samples made for Donna Ratcliff on Hochanda.

Both have been coloured with illustrator markers and both have the lovely vibrant sparkle pen backgrounds.

With the addition of some die cuts, gilding wax and frantage (on the pipes on the second one) I thought these turned out rather well!!!

Hope you like them too!

Something different! - A sample for Stacey Barras's new circus stamp collection.....

Good morning!!!

Well, I hope I haven't frightened you to death this morning!!!

Boy, did I have fun with this sample!

I started with a paper mache face mask (just a cheap mask you can find in the shops that ties at the back with elastic) and went to town with my circus stamps, mod podge and tissue paper and acrylic paints!

I have used lots of the circus stamp range all over the mask.

Check out all the colourful pom pons, tickets and stars - there is so much to see on this mask, very busy and lively but it shouts carnival and circus don't you think?!!!!

Unfortunately, this sample wasn't shown on Hochanda - probably just in case they were frightened of scaring people but I thought I'd share my work here with you instead!!!

A real treat today, my favourite Call of the Wild sample! .......

Good morning!

Well I'm going to say it before you do - "look at this beauty"!!!!  Can you tell that I was impressed with myself with this one?!!!!

I thought that this deserved recognition on it's own today.

Having received an awful lot of attention on social media and on the television I'm introducing you to the "not so normal" golden eagle stamp in the new Sheena Douglass Call of the Wild collection!!

I have stamped this one directly using sparkle pens for the intense colour (I didn't want to lose any of the colour and it just wouldn't have been intense enough if I'd used my aqua markers).  Then I have blended out the colours with my paintbrush, blowing the final paint around the image with a straw.

Obviously this seems a simple technique but great care must be used when choosing your colours or you will end up with "mud' or no depth so easily achievable if you do some thinking before you get going!!!

I do hope that you like this image as much as I do, I think it brought a breath of fresh air to an image that was shouting for the usual browns and whites of the "normal" golden eagle.

Two more samples for Donna Ratcliff with Crafters Companion - it's steampunk!!

Good morning to you!!

Here I am as promised with more of Donna Ratcliff's new steampunk collection shown on Hochanda.

These two cards I have grouped together for you as they use the same steampunk flowers.

Now, these show you just how different you can be with your designs don't they!!  That first creation is so grungey and typical of steampunk metallic colours.  With the use of hitch fasteners in the corners and a totally "worn" steampunk feel and the second one is in total contrast to the first with browns and skin-like tones from the use of the Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens (the figure collection).

I was really pleased with these samples, hope you like them too.

Two more samples for Stacey Barras and Crafters Companion.............

Good morning!!

Here I am with two more of my samples made for Stacey Barras using her new circus stamps with Crafters Companion.

The first one is a twisted easel card that I have created with lots of distress oxide for the background (I have stamped with the distress oxide as well as using it for the background colour).  I finished this off with a lovely large jewel at the top of the carousel horse.

The second piece was one of my favourites from this collection, the vintage elephant stamp and here I have stamped him three times with his ball standing on his box.  Having kept the background very muted I went for some bold colour with alcohol pens and was very happy with the result that I got.

Hope you like these samples,

Now this is a first for me - fabric painting!! .....and a finished rucksack bag!

Good morning!!!

Well I think it's very clear to say, I've been very very busy in my crafting life just recently - are you keeping up with me??  I do hope so!!!!

What I'm sharing with you today was an absolute first for me - stamping on to fabric and fabric painting!

I have used Pebeo setacolor fabric paints on all of these panels and it's a fine, dark grey denim fabric being used.

The challenge this time was to paint six panels of a rucksack that was to be stitched in to the bag after I had done my art work - showing how Sheena Douglass's stamps not only work superbly for normal paper crafting but how they can be used for fabric painting too.

So today I'm showing you all six fabric panels that I completed and although it is much more time consuming than obviously painting straight on to card stock or paper, it is very satisfying and relaxing once you get going.

There is lots of masking on some of these and that was done by using normal copy paper sprayed with a tiny bit of stick and spray (or you could use any repositionable spray glue).

I finished each piece with some brushed effects to help lift those images off of the fabric a bit.

Here is the finished sewn bag!!!! Rather blew me away when I saw it all sewn together !!

Hope you like this today, something a little different for you but still with my love of rubber stamping!!!

Thanks for stopping by,

New launch of steampunk stamps for Donna Ratcliff on Hochanda...........

Good morning!!

Today I'm sharing the first of my samples that were made for the launch of Donna Ratcliff's new steampunk collection for Crafters Companion.

I just adore steampunk and how you can mix it all up with as bright or as grungey colours as you want to!

The first sample here has been created on black card stock using distress oxide inks (they show up brilliantly on black card stock) and the butterfly has been covered in gilding flakes and coloured in with the Colorista metallic pencils. Lots of cogs cut in black card stock again and this time covered in a fine layer of gilding wax.

The second sample has again been coloured in with metallic pencils and I have coloured in a page from the Colorista pencil pad and used that as my back mat on this one.  Lots of die cut cogs too!

A super collection of rubber stamps, easily fitting for a man as well as a woman - I like stamps that are so versatile!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you like these as much as I do!

I will share this with my friends over on the Allsorts challenge - Blue and Brown this week.

New Challenge at Penny Black and More - Flower Power and Guest Designer for Stamping Sensations one layer Christmas card.....

Good morning folks!

Here I am with my inspiration for our new challenge over at Penny Black and More and this month the new theme is "Flower Power!".

What a cracking theme, lots of choices for you on this one and Penny Black do some awesome floral stamps and stencils too.

I've used Penny Black stamps 30-284 Sprigs and 40-545 Lustrous.

This one has been stamped with aqua markers and then blended out and finally when I was happy, spritzed with water for that final "bleed".

Remember, there are prizes to be had so come over and check out our challenge:

http://pennyblackatallsorts.blogspot.co.uk

I was also so very pleased to be picked as the winner of last months Colour Challenge at Stamping Sensations and Brenda has kindly asked me to be their Guest Designer for this month for their new challenge of a one layer Christmas card.

I've worked on a DL card here (unusual for me) as I felt that this scene was best suited to this shape of card.  I've recently bought this new stamp and was so wanting to use it so this was the perfect opportunity!  This stamp in the Pine Tree by Paper Rose (Australia).  A beautiful stamp that gives such a crisp image every time.  So, I have started by blending the background with some distress ink leaving a slightly lighter part in the middle.  Then, starting from the back and working forwards, I've used distress ink so that you could hardly see the trees at the time of stamping (believe it or not, the forest appears when the trees at the front go on!)  Then I've stamped in much bolder, clearer colour with Archival Fern Green and Versafine Spanish Moss.  I have glittered the tree that stands alone with some Sparkelicious Crystallina glitter by Chloe (did struggle to get that to show on the photo).  The little snowflakes are actually from a free set with Creative Stamping magazine!

There, all on one layer, no matting or layering - just straight on to the card, fun to do and messy on the fingers (just how I like it!!!!!!),

Do hope that you can not only join in with Penny Black and More challenges but with Stamping Sensations too!

Good luck!!!

Sheena Douglass's Call of the Wild samples...........

Good morning!!

I just couldn't wait to start putting these on to my blog!!  Look at the skies sparkle on these Call of the Wild samples!!!!

Two further samples from Sheena Douglass's Call of the Wild collection for you today.  The top one is my totem pole!!  I have reversed the eagles head against the original one and cut them out and the main pole has been done by stamping the main body of the flying eagle (seen on the second sample) with a head at both ends - see it?

The second sample is of the beautiful dream catcher and on here I have added some natural feathers.

Lots of use of sparkle pens on these samples, I love it but you should see my fingers when I've finished!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today, look out for some more stunning samples from this collection coming on here soon....

Two more samples for Stacey Barras and Crafters Companion.....

Morning!!

Here are a further two samples that I made for Stacey Barras's new circus stamps for Crafters Companion.

Isn't that elephant adorable?  The first creation is one using distress oxides.  I have coloured the elephant in alcohol pens and finished it off with some felt curtains.

The second one is of course the beautiful big top and this time (instead of being really bright like my last sample of it on Friday 27th Oct) I have muted it down a bit, keeping it all toned with blues.  Finished off with a little glossy accents on those flags at the top.

Hope you like these,

Thanks for stopping by today,
