My Christmas Door Wreath.........

Good morning!

Well, we are going way off piste this morning and in to a little bit of a private peek of what I've been up to in my preparations for Christmas!  Last weekend I joined some friends and we attended a workshop to create our own Christmas door wreaths, well, it's craft isn't it? So I thought I'd share my efforts with you!

Yes, I did take some photo's along the way so you'll be able to share the experience with me.

OK, so when we arrived, our basic spruce wreath had been prepared for us - although this doesn't look very big, believe me, it's a VERY LARGE wreath!  So we were given the basic greenery wreath and some floristry wires.  We had a lovely demonstration, tea and homemade Christmas fudge and then we were let loose!

What a mess we began to make!  There were 12 in the class and it was a two and a half hour workshop but it went so quickly!  So here we are (my spot was second down on the left hand side) applying lovely variegated holly and dark and variegated ivys - we had loads to choose from in big bumpy bags - it was great - a pair of secateurs and we were away!

So here we have moved on slightly and all our foliage is on and we are adding all the glitz and glamour to them.  We had lots of choice from baubles and cinnamon sticks to whole dried oranges or sliced and sliced apple.  There were pine cones, pheasant feathers, ribbons, all sorts of lovely Christmassy goodies to decorate however we wished to.

Ta Dah!!!! What do you think? I added lights and was really, really chuffed with it.  My fingers weren't so convinced though after all the twiddling of wires!

Yours truly and now you really can see the size of it - the wreath that is - I know the size of me 😒😂!!!

At night.

By day.

This workshop was rang by Jenny from Baytree Cottage Workshops in Farthingstone:-
Jenny runs all sorts of different workshops from crafts to cooking - do take a look.

Now that front door is not your average sized front door and that is no average sized wreath!!!! £40 for the workshop and I personally think that that must be a bargain.

Well, hope you've enjoyed a little insight in to a wreath making workshop and my journey to one too.

Thanks for stopping by,
Leanne x

  1. It's absolutely fabulous Leanne and I understand now why your hands were so sore by the end of the day! It's huge but doesn't it look just perfect on your front door :)
It's a lovely photograph of you looking so proud with your finished wreath and quite rightly so. They'll be no stopping you from now on and I'm sure that we'll be seeing lots more of these beauties in the years to come, well done. Crafty hugs, Sandra x
